Taking the clicking out of the content system

In a large CMS the same steps repeat on every page. Across hundreds of pages that adds up to days.

Before

five steps per page

After

one

The problem

Set metadata, maintain an alias, copy, publish: the same sequence of clicks on every single page. Error-prone and dull, but necessary.

What I built

A browser extension that puts the most frequent steps on a single click, right inside the editor view. It sits next to the CMS rather than inside it, so no change to the system itself was needed.

The result

What used to be five steps per page is now one. The extension is used daily, not demonstrated once.
