Introduction to Apleona Wolfferts
Apleona Wolfferts GmbH is a well-established real estate and facility management company in Cologne. Renowned for its comprehensive services, the company had an increasing number of projects demanding onsite technical assistance and their existing IT team required additional support to manage the growing workload effectively.
The Challenge
The company’s small IT team was overwhelmed with ticket requests, ranging from account access management, software updates on machines, telephone network setups, to establishing networks at new construction sites. These issues required hands-on, immediate attention, which the development team couldn’t provide due to their focus on software projects.
The Solution
I stepped in as a 2nd level IT freelancer to address these challenges head-on. Covering 4 different locations in and around Cologne with a company car, I tackled a wide array of technical issues. While I was addressing immediate problems I also identified and implemented long-term solutions. One notable instance was resolving a team’s restricted internet access, an issue that had been hindering their productivity for months.
Outcome and Feedback
The impact of my work was met with high praise from CEO and the employees. By providing timely and effective solutions, I significantly improved their daily work experience. My dedication to going above and beyond the outlined responsibilities led Apleona Wolfferts GmbH to offer an extension of my freelance contract or a permanent position, recognizing the value I brought to their operations.
