Introduction to the Client
At Bekatec, our task is managing over 300 websites for one of the world’s leading consumer goods and adhesives companies, headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. As a key service provider, we’re always seeking ways to optimize our workflow and enhance efficiency. Given the scale and complexity of our operations, any tool or solution that can streamline processes and reduce workload is invaluable.
The Challenge
As a leading Front-End editor and trainer within a team of about 40 members, I’ve encountered firsthand the challenges and pain points of editing in their Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) RAQN. The need for a tool that could streamline the editing process and minimize errors was evident. Recognizing this, I took the initiative to develop a solution that could significantly improve efficiency.
The Solution
I developed a Chrome Plugin tailored specifically for the AEM system used by our team. This plugin is a true game changer – it allows editors to switch from viewing a live page to editing mode, access page properties, navigate to the admin area, publish pages, or open the same page in different environments, all with a single button click or shortcut. Designed to save up to 90% of editing time, the tool not only enhances efficiency but also reduces the likelihood of errors.
In addition to its practical functionalities, the plugin positions our team to outperform competitors, providing a distinct advantage in the speed and accuracy of content updates. I ensured the plugin was user-friendly, easy to install, and accompanied by a comprehensive video briefing that explains each feature. I also included instructions on how to customize settings, making the tool accessible even for those without developer knowledge.
Outcome and Feedback
The introduction of the Chrome Plugin has revolutionized our editing workflow. It has been instrumental in enhancing work efficiency, reducing error rates, and contributing to sustainable, high-quality content management. The feedback from the team has been overwhelmingly positive, recognizing the plugin as a vital tool in our daily operations.
